[영문] NORTH KOREA: THE CRUMBLING STATE OF HEALTH CARE IN NORTH KOREA

Nearly one million people died when famine hit the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea) in the early 1990s. Today, food shortages and a broader economic crisis continue. The government’s delayed and inadequate response to the food crisis has had a devastating impact on the health of the population. In this report, Amnesty International documents how widespread and chronic malnutrition has triggered epidemics and illnesses related to poor diet. The government must take urgent steps to address food shortages and the crumbling health care system.
